About Us
Family-owned. Immigrant-owned. Park Slope, through and through.
Mars Laundromat started the way most good neighborhood businesses do — with a family that decided to build something for the block they lived on.
Our story
Mars Laundromat was founded by a family who came to Brooklyn with very little except a willingness to work hard and a belief that a laundromat could be more than a place you rush in and out of. Years later, that's still the standard we hold ourselves to — every wash, every fold, every delivery.
We're not owned by a private equity fund or run through a call center three states away. We're your neighbors. Many of our regulars have been coming to us for years, and we know most of them by name, along with how they like their shirts folded.
As Park Slope has changed around us, one thing hasn't: we still believe the best service comes from people who actually care about the neighborhood they work in — because it's the same neighborhood they go home to.
The garden out front
If you've walked past our storefront, you've probably noticed it before you noticed the sign: a small, thriving garden that's become a little landmark on the block. It's lovingly maintained by a family friend who's been tending it for years, purely because she loves doing it. It's not a corporate landscaping contract — it's a gift from someone who's part of our extended family, and we think it says a lot about how we do everything else.
Rooted in the neighborhood
We've watched Park Slope grow and change, and we've grown alongside it — sponsoring local events, hiring from the neighborhood, and doing our best to be the kind of small business people are glad still exists. When you book with us, you're not routing a request through an app's algorithm. You're supporting a family that's invested in this block for the long run.
Personal, not automated
A real person reviews and confirms every booking — we don't let software make promises we can't keep.
Consistency you can count on
The same care and attention, whether it's your first order or your five-hundredth.
Proud to be local
Family-owned and immigrant-owned, with roots in this neighborhood that go back years.
